CRITERIA FOR BEING A TRUSTED SURGEON

Here's an overview of what we research

Trusting someone to your body is a hard thing to do--especially when it's not a life and death situation.

For years, we have painstakingly and diligently searched and compiled data on plastic surgeons to determine if we ourselves would trust them or not. Our achievement is monumental. To date, nearly every plastic surgeon within the United States has been analyzed and indexed. And with what we found, we put together a list of trusted plastic surgeons.

When you search for a trusted surgeon using our simple yet comprehensive search tool, you are accessing our extensive research database. Our goal is to save you time, possible confusion, and potential heartache. We want you to feel comfortable by being informed.

What we looked at

We came up with three measureable criteria that are most important. These criteria deal with the "objective" part of decision making. How you like the office or the doctor's visit is still up to you. And while we understand that past success isn't a guarantee of the future (so here's the disclaimer: we can't promise you anything), we hope to help you minimize risks by having you go only to trusted surgeons.

The "genetic makeup" of a trusted surgeon are threefold:

We believe that having each of these three aspects is important. As we sorted and sifted through the facts, the slightest deficiency in any of them would disqualify a doctor from being a trusted surgeon.

The steps we take

Unlike many other sites that do little or no research, we have a team of "detectives" that actively investigate plastic surgeons. Any lead we're given, we'll look into it.

First we verify that the surgeon has adequate plastic surgery education and training.

Then we confirm that he or she is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. We ignore other boards because we (along with many state boards as well as the American Board of Medical Specialities) find them inadequate. For example, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery requires only 100 hours of cosmetic surgery procedures. This pales in comparison to a plastic surgery residency which is at minimum 5 years.

Thirdly, we track down the surgeon's records at the state medical board. Any citations or disciplinary actions on record would immediately disqualify a surgeon from being included in our network.

And several steps beyond

Of note, our network is constantly updated. Every plastic surgeon listed is reviewed periodically for compliance with our criteria to remain in the Trusted Surgeons Network.

The next point is very important: we include every trusted plastic surgeon we can find in our network. We do not charge the surgeon a fee to be listed. Every surgeon we are made aware of is researched. If the surgeon qualifies, he or she is then added to our list within 24 hours from the completion of our research.

If you find a surgeon that is not listed on our site, and you would like us to research the surgeon, you can e-mail us at info@trustedsurgeons.com and we will forward it to our research team.

Summary

We deal with facts. We sort and sift them for you so that you don't have to. And we put it all together right here on our site at no charge to either you or to the doctors.
